Dan Joint Builders Ltd is a Central Auckland based Building Company, servicing Auckland wide.  We can work for you on full contract at a competitive fixed price or on charge up. This means we would provide you with labour, materials, and complete project management from start to finnish. Alternatively we can provide labour only generally done at an hourly rate.  Whatever your preference rest assured you will not be disapointed at the quality of service that we can deliver. When employing a Builder who is licensed with the Depatment of Building and Housing New Zealand http://www.dbh.govt.nz/lbp you can feel confident that you are getting a Builder who has been through an application process to become listed in a public register. A member can be disqualified if a complaint is made to the department.

Dan has 20 years of Building experience and holds a national certificate in carpentry. He started out on big commercial sites but has since gained a lot more satisfaction from working on residential and light comercial projects. Dan believes in getting the right person for the job when subbing out any work and will employ dedicated proffesionals for the task at hand. The specialists range from certified, licensed builders/ carpenters to foundation and earthwork contractors, designers, engineers, plumbers , electricians etc..

Business Members of the Certified Builders Association of New Zealand can apply to Builtin New Zealand Ltd for a ten-year written guarantee when undertaking your renovation. The guarantee gives the new homeowner additional reassurance and belief in the quality of the workmanship provided by their Certified Builder.
If a contract is not completed for some reason, Builtin New Zealand Ltd will encourage the builder to remedy the problem and, if necessary, appoint another Certified Builder to do so, and the written guarantee will cover or contribute significantly to the cost. The guarantee itself is underwritten by Contractors Bonding Ltd, which is New Zealand's largest and longest-established specialist bonding, financial risk and surety company.

Loss of Deposit – not exceeding twenty per cent (20%) of the Contract Price, or $50,000, whichever is the less
Non completion of the dwelling - not exceeding twenty per cent (20%) of the Contract Price, or $100,000, whichever is the less

Builders Dan and Peter have recently built our house down here at Fawcett Road. Even though the whole job ran throughout the winter months they still managed to complete on time and on Budget. Building this house was a huge commitment for us and we were quite anxious right at the start.  We needn’t have been as the job ran like clockwork and we could clearly see a lot of progress being made day-to-day. Their attention to detail, competency and coordination meant that all inspections were signed off without any problems.

Our Architect Nichole commented on how well the whole thing was going considering the complexity of the multi story design. There was a real consistency of total professionalism throughout the whole project, and we totally felt like everybody had our interests at heart. Even David Ellery our Waitakere city council building inspector was full of praise saying how “ The quality of workmanship had brightened up his day”.

I have used Dan Joint Builders on a number of jobs for me both in Auckland and on Waiheke Island.

More recently I have used them to do major upgrade and alteration work to a 100-year-old villa that I had moved from Epsom to a section that I bought overlooking Onetangi.  Architect, Belinda George was more than happy with the way the job went, and pleased to see that all the correct materials specified had been used.

I’d also like to say that his project management skills and general problem solving abilities clearly make things move at a good pace and you really feel like your being looked after.  I shall definitely be using them for future work.

We initially found Dan Joint Builders through the Department of Building and Housing website, and got them round to our house in Woodlands Park to investigate the basement cladding that was starting to crack all over the place. After a bit of investigation it became clear that this was due to a substandard foundation with no footings, so gradual subsidence of the building was starting to occur.

Dan helpfully guided us through the redesign and building consent process for a new basement/ foundation along with local draughtsman Robert Chisolme and engineers Verstop and Taylor. Naturally we were granted our building consent just as we were coming into Winter, so Dan and the other builders had to complete the project under the worst conditions. However they got the job done to a high standard at what we felt was an honest and fair price and now we have a much warmer and dryer basement. Many thanks for all the hard work.

We have had our home upgraded a number of times over the years, and keep going back to Dan as we know we are going to get a quick response with estimates and getting the jobs done within a reasonable time frame. Dan has great communication skills and work ethic and the builders and subcontractors he employs also demonstrate this. Recently we have had a garage space created with electric doors and our 1600m2 section fenced off with pedestrian gates at the sides. We will be getting them back soon for further alterations work to the inside of the house.
